I have been working professionally in and around games since 2005, originally in large studios, then as an independent developer and small business owner.
Video games have been a constant presence in my life; some of my earliest memories are of playing Bruce Lee on the Atari 800XL with my brother. My absolute favorite game is (the original) Dune, although I suspect that it's related to the fact that it was the very first game I played after getting a Sound Blaster.
I have lived on three continents, so far. I was born in France, grew up in Gabon, and have been in the States for the last 22 years (I am a US Citizen).
I am passionate about systems and simulation, and I enjoy making games that take advantage of those. A software and hardware engineer by trade, I have found myself to be a very competent game designer as well.
I am also an avid learner and really excel when I get to explore, and bridge, new areas of expertise. In fact, the last few years of my career have been focused on designing, developing and manufacturing electronic dice for TTRPG games (i.e. D&D).
This unusual endeavor has further broadened my expertise to new disciplines, from CAD and DFM (Design-for-Manufacturing) of physical products, to embedded firmware development, all the way to the handling of logistics, sales, and marketing.
While software development and electrical engineering are my most developed skills, I believe I will bring the most value to a smaller team or project, where multi-disciplinary excellence is not just a nice-to-have but a core requirement.
